Book nook is an Atlanta institution. They're a used bookstore. There is very little new. Sassy knowledgeable staff makes things fun. First time visitors should plan 45 minutes.
This place can be expensive depending on your book addiction. Curious branching spaces are stuffed with every type of common and rare book variety. The discount room gets a lot of my business. They have a kids book room, big comic book area, games, music section, rare and antique books section, everything but porn. Think of a fun Harry Potter type bookstore/warehouse and you'll understand this one. Prices vary from $.99 in clearance to a $1,000 for a huge set of antique classics. Or you could find the same classic books in modern softcover for around $3.00 to $5.00. Cookbooks are abundant here. Go vegan! Modern writers you're looking for are easy to find here too.
It's great that Atlanta has somewhere like this. It reminds me of a smaller, one story version of my favorite used book store in Arcata. The smell of old treasures makes me want to spend all day in the stacks sitting cross-legged in a corner and reading like I did when I was a kid. Fortunately as an adult you can at least buy the wonders you find back there and take them home to add a little wonder to your home library.
They have a nice selection of things but their higher-priced items aren't in the kind of condition I would like to see. It's a great stop if you love literature and board games.
it's one of those old book stores that also smell like old books ) love that smell) but you can find amazing books and other novelties here. I always come out with something or I find exactly what I was looking for. Staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
